We are taking a break in 2026, but plan to be back in 2027!

OK, confession time - we love this venue, but so do many other groups and event organisers, and we simply couldn't get an available weekend for 2026. The building was booked out so far in advance. So hoping to be back in 2027 - and dates will probably be posted early for next year.

Frodsham Community Centre is home to an amazing array of textile groups – and one of our favourite World Textile Day venues. Fordsham is very easy to get to from Manchester, Liverpool, the Wirral and even north Wales.

Last year's event was our second SashikoFest, and it went down a treat with local textile enthusiasts. This is what we got up to in 2025 -

Traders - Janice Gunner, Japan Crafts, Retro Japan, Susan Briscoe Designs, Textile Traders

Talks - 'Creating the Ultimate Sashiko Sourcebook - the 20th anniversary' with Susan Briscoe, 11am; 'One Simple Stitch' with Janice Gunner at 2pm
 

Demos - kogin demo, Japanese embroidery demo, Japanese braidmaking demo, kimono dress up
 

Make and takes - So-me Marche Sashiko Thread Dyeing (with Katie from Japan Crafts), Hitomezashi and other sashiko (with sashiko tutor Steve Rowley), Boro taster square (with sashiko and boro author and teacher Rosemary Muntus)

Exhibition of work from The Ultimate Sashiko Sourcebook and other books by Susan, work by Janice and Rosemary, and antique and vintage sashiko, kogin, and boro.

​And we had delicious onsite catering and refreshments all day!
